Sprouts with Lemon and Macadamia Nuts

Lemony Brussels sprouts with nuts make an easy side dish that’s super easy and pleasantly surprising! These are, by far, the best Brussels sprouts I have ever had. My family raved and raved about them to everyone. They were nutty, a little sweet and pretty.

Sprouts with Lemon and Macadamia Nuts

Lemony Brussels sprouts with nuts make an easy side dish that’s super easy and pleasantly surprising!

Ingredients

  • 650g sprouts
  • 1tbsp olive oil
  • 4 rashers of streaky bacon
  • 40g macadamia nuts
  • Zest of half a lemon

Instructions

Steam the sprouts until tender and drain. Halve the larger sprouts.

Toast macadamia nuts in a dry frying pan, and chop coarsely once cool.

Heat the olive oil in a frying pan, add 4 chopped rashers of streaky bacon and fry for 2-3 minutes. Add sprouts, nuts and the lemon zest. Cook until nicely coloured.

    I love the sound of this, my husband hates Brussels. You have divided the house with this recipe…,.,but 8 am going to try it anyway!!!

    I love sprouts. We usually have ours with walnuts so will have to try this recipe which uses a different type of nut.
